I want to donate my time to help people in my community affected by domestic violence.

Volunteer of the Month

Featured Volunteer of the Month: March 2021

Volunteer Start Date: August 2020

Time Served: 117 Hours

Marisol is a psychology major at Chico State. She joined Catalyst as a way to gain experience while helping people in the community. At the shelter, she most enjoys organizing and has done great work in our donation closet. She loves leaving spaces looking nice and clean. She also really enjoys decorating and always has a great time making the shelter look festive for the holidays (her personal favorite is Halloween).

When Marisol is not at Catalyst, she loves to swim and play video games. Right now, she is pretty obsessed with Minecraft and has built herself a beach house, a greenhouse, and a cattery (a home just for her virtual kitties). She not only plays by also knows how to write code – Java, Python, and CC+ is just a little of what she knows.

Fun Fact: Marisol calls herself a foodie. She is a big-time fan of sushi, her favorite places include the Raw Bar, Japanese Blossom, and Aonami. She loves to experience food and when she is feeling particularly brave, say she tries to make it herself!.
