I want to donate my time to help people in my community affected by domestic violence and sexual assault.

Volunteer of the Month

Featured Volunteer of the Month: December 2023

Volunteer Start Date: January 2023

Time Served: 160 Hours

Maria is passionate about supporting victims and survivors of domestic violence. Growing up in a home where domestic violence was present, she was saddened by the lack of services available to support her mother and family. This inspired Maria to volunteer at Catalyst and provide safe services to members of the community. As a volunteer, Maria helps answer the crisis line. She provides a listening ear to people needing someone to talk to. She also enjoys tabling for community events and informing the public about Catalyst services. Maria has poured her heart into this work and we are thankful to have her on the team.

Fun Facts: Fun Facts: Maria grew up in the Philippines. She plays the saxophone, loves horror movies, and has a special interest in Filipino food. Her favorite restaurant is Ramen Yamadaya in San Francisco, yum!
